How the Vue works:
Step 1: The Emporia Vue 3 is installed directly into your home's electrical panel, providing detailed monitoring of your energy consumption.
Step 2: Monitor your overall home usage with the Whole Home model or you can monitor specific rooms or appliances with the addition of up to 16 sensors.
Step 3: By adding these circuit level sensors you can identify energy hogs, see any unusual activity like a sump pump that is constantly running or even be notified if you left the oven on.
Step 4: If you have more than 16 breakers you want to monitor (in one panel or multiple), just add another Vue Home Energy Monitor manage it all in our convenient, free app.
Step 5: Configure settings in the Emporia Energy App to automate energy management for time of use, peak demand, excess solar, and rewards programs.
How many sensors do I need?
Monitor Only
The base Vue 3 model will track your systems main lines giving you a Total Usage (or Net) value seeing how much energy your home is using.
No additional 50A CT sensors are included in this kit to track individual circuit usage, but it provides the functionality needed to track your overall usage and leverage energy management features from the Emporia platform.
8 Sensors
This package provides you with 8x 50A CT sensors to track individual circuits within your electrical panel as well as your system mains.
The additional 50A CTs are helpful to track suspect circuit usage, high appliance loads and circuits of interest. This package is helpful if you're not concerned about every circuit within your panel, but focused on a select few branch circuits usage. Also helpful to monitor solar generation if present.
16 Sensors
This package provides the most complete measurement coverage available with a single Vue energy monitor.
It allows for up to 16x branch circuits to be monitored from the same panel that your Vue energy monitor is installed in. Use these sensors to track your solar generation, high appliance load or any circuits of interest.
