Emporia’s off-peak chargers can help lower electric rates and improve grid reliability for all Mainers by leveling the load on the electric grid. The chargers operate normally during off-peak hours and automatically pause charging during peak hours, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. If you need to charge during peak hours, you can use the Emporia app to override the default for the day.

Efficiency Maine offers $400 in incentives: a $200 instant discount at the time of purchase plus an additional $200 bonus once you finish setup.

Purchasing Instructions

1. Select the Emporia off-peak charger that best fits your needs.
2. If you have an Efficiency Maine Off-Peak Charger Instant Discount Code, enter it during checkout to save $200. Get a discount code. The discount code is valid through the Emporia store, not Amazon.
3. Get your charger installed. The charger does not need to be installed by a Residential Registered Vendor. If you need an installer, use the Efficiency Maine vendor locator.
4. Download the Emporia app and connect your charger to Wi-Fi to complete setup and start charging off-peak.
5. If you connect your charger to the Emporia app within 6 months of purchase, Efficiency Maine will mail you a $200 Setup Completion Bonus check within 6 weeks of Emporia notifying Efficiency Maine that you activated your off-peak charger.
